James Naismith the Father on History of basketball from Canada

Each sport has its own history of how it exists in the early beginning. As known by many people, this world has numerous kinds of sports approved such as football, badminton, volley, and particularly basketball. This last sport, basketball is the second world’s popular sport. If talking about the history of basketball, it is wisely to explore the memories of past n 500 years ago when a game similar to basketball was played at Mexico by the Aztec and Mayan people. These people were still uncivilized as they played the game using the skulls of enemies they conquered.

According to the real basketball history, James Naismith the Canadian instructor of physics education was the founder of basketball. James was born with good educational background where he was educated at McGill University.

During his career at Springfield College, James Naismith invented basketball sport. His invention was actually addressed to YMCA to play the game during winter time. James Naismith was the once who arranged and wrote the first basketball game rules. As time passed by, there are a few rules which have been changed. James first came up with the idea of peach basketball for hoops.

Although there are  many modifications, the original rules of basketball are still used and some have no  longer been used. The formal rules of basketball was set up in 1892 where it was played by 18 players who had to dribble the ball up and down then threw it into peach basket to make the points.

The soccer ball was firstly used in the early basketball game due to James and YMCA had no money to design a ball for basketball. Now, basketball sport has reached top popularity throughout the world. The first professional basketball game began in Trenton, New Jersey. The game was for two teams between Trenton YMCA and Brooklyn YMCA.

The history of basketball goes on two years later, the NBL (National Basketball League) was formed and soon other leagues were formed all over the Eastern United States. The professional basketball teams were the New York Celtics. However, It ended during the world war I. Jim Furey and his brother restarted their team and in 1921 the Celtics team joined Metropolitan league. Before the period of 20s, the SPHA’s was formed. It was the most successful basketball team back then because it can attract fans wherever they want. In their career, they always beat their opponent at the game.
